WHAT DO YOU NEED TO KNOW?

NCause of hip pain can be multiple. An extensive physical exam is necessary to determine the cause of hip pain. Most of the hip pain is refereed anterior, posterior or lateral to the hip. Intra articular or extra articular pathology could be producing hip pain. These include, hip impingement (FAI), hip dysplasia, hip osteoarthritis, cartilage damage or extra articular pathology including: hamstring, gluteus, bursitis or iliopsoas tendintis. Also, lots of patients will present with lower back pathology in association with hip pain.
